Antique market & museums

We can talk up a storm about flavors, colors, sights and sounds in Tongeren. Every Sunday morning from 7 am, 40 antique shops open and about 350 exhibitors set up shop in and around the center of Tongeren showing off their showpieces. Plan a visit to meet Neanderthals in the Gallo-Roman Museum and discover the treasures of the past. Come back to Vinote X after a wild walk for a glass of well deserved wine.

Cycling & walking

Numerous cycling routes start in Tongeren, from 25 kilometers to double that. They lead you to all the beautiful landscapes nearby and through a landscape dotted with more than 100 castles, square farms and charming church villages. You don’t actually have to leave the city – there is the market, the ramparts, the charming Begijnhof. Every first Sunday of the month is shopping day and later in the afternoon come and enjoy a cup of tea and scones with clotted cream in the Vinotel X.
In the vicinity of Tongeren you also have the see-through church in Borgloon, the imposing Alden Biesen, the bizarre fortress of Eben-Emael, the super cozy Kanne. Each journey starts with the first step.
